Art on the Internet
Many artists dont really find so much work any more people use photoshop etc to make fake paintings its rare for people to do it. Some families do it as a one time treat or a special gift for a family member but people do it rarely. Where in past decades people would actually visit an artist in their studio and sit for the artist over many hours today the internet makes things different. Some artists just need some good quality photos to work from. Be cautious though as its risky sometimes buying online if you never actually meet the person. Unless you meet them personally try to carry out some basic research about the artist try to find some previous customer comments about them. Dont always believe comments on their own website some people are unscrupulous. Often people seem trustworthy but can be just scams. Ask for references or testimonials if possible. For detailed checks you can run online reverse lookup which allow you access to criminal civil government and personal records. You should then have a better idea of who they really are. Where does the info on the internet actually come from? Unlike the library in your local city which contains accepted and editorially controlled books and publications with some level of respect and authority the web is simply the mangled ramblings of people like you and me – not experts in all things for sure. But this is of course not necessarily a bad thing just be aware that when you see info online you need to be sceptical.
