Houston-based A+ Conferencing and New Jersey-based PeerPort have combined forces to launch Start-Team, a suite of virtual collaboration services.
The product is targeted squarely at the enterprise sector. Among the features of Start-Team include unlimited audio and Web conferencing, messaging, chat, calendering, action item tracking and a document repository, and the services are firewall-protected.
"Today, businesses increasingly rely on teams comprised of both internal and external personnel," said Mike Burns, president of A+. "However, the technology has not kept pace with these organizational dynamics, and stand-alone conference calls or web meetings are no substitute for the traditional walk down the hall. Start-Team provides the tools necessary to help improve the effectiveness of virtual teams and distributed organizations, and delivers them in a way that fosters continuous collaboration, not miscommunication."
"Businesses today are wrestling with how to enable true cross collaboration – across companies, across time zones, across geographies," said Edward Chatlos, CEO of PeerPort. "Many of the currently available solutions fall short when it comes to supporting teams whose members reside both inside and outside of an organization. We designed Start-Team to deliver collaboration regardless of location or company affiliation, making it an invaluable tool for businesses looking to more effectively compete in the 24x7 global marketplace."
