Below are three news items of note in the virtual enterprise market that came to our attention this week (details after the jump):
- ON24, a leader in Webcasting and virtual events solutions, made two announcements. First, the company will be providing full support for its products in Windows 7. Secondly, the San Fransisco-headquartered company is launching a beta program for select customers using Silverlight, Microsoft's Flash-like plug-in for Web applications. The goal, according to Chief Marketing Officer Denise Persson, is to provide "ubiquitous access to virtual events. We are
committed to providing to our customers the industry's greatest reach."
- 6Connex, a company that makes the Virtual Experience Platform geared to the B2B and B2C segments, has announced a number of partnerships with healthcare and life science companies. The moves will allow virtual access for these organizations and individuals - from Blue Sky Broadcast, Capital HealthCare Group, Green Line Strategies, MasterReps, LLC, and Seyet, LLC - to leverage the platform. "These companies share a common vision with us to drive improved business communications, education/training and collaboration using proven virtual technology solutions to establish measurable and tangible results for organizations focused in the healthcare and life sciences arena," said Brian Lane, Vice President of healthcare and life sciences at 6Connex.
- Redwood Shores, Calif.-headquartered Saba Centra, a provider of people management software and solutions, stated that its suite of online learning and Web conferencing products will be compatible with the iPhone. Users will quickly be able to access meetings or virtual training sessions through their phone. "The addition of iPhone capabilities for Saba Centra will enrich Saba's suite of mobile applications and build on our promise of connecting any employee, anywhere and anytime," said Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Salzman.
