ON24, a San Fransisco-based virtual events company, has dug further into the corporate education market with the release of its Virtual Learning Center.
The new space is designed for training and professional and continuing education.
"ON24 offers a completely customizable, 3-D learning solution designed to give attendees what they need, including an easy-to-navigate user interface, while providing companies with the enhanced virtual environment they need in 2009 and beyond to meet their educational needs," said ON24 Chief Marketing Officer Denise Persson in a statement.
"E-learning can satisfy an enterprise’s need for training while keeping the travel budget in check," said Gartner Managing Vice President James Lundy. "Organizations that opt for virtual learning solutions over sending employees to off-site classroom instruction can save about $2,000 per week for each employee trained."
The center will respond to both 'persistent' virtual learning situations and a training/education center that can be offered through a summit or conference. The center features a resource center or library, a product/technology showcase, a lecture hall/auditorium, a communications center, and a classroom/exhibit hall. There will also be a way to track user engagement and participant activity.
ON24 previously offered a Continuing Education Solution, but we're not exactly sure how this one is differentiated from that space.

ON24 provides webcasting and virtual event solutions for marketing, communications, and continuing education. Our webcasting platform supports the ability to test the viewer and then offer the option of generating a certificate based on the results. With this new Virtual Learning Center Solution, we are adding the availability of a virtual environment for the audience which then provides access to webcasts along with technical and product exhibits and opportunities to network with others in the environment.
