Tokyo's 3Di has released the technology to create a 3D advertising banner that can display and operate virtual worlds in a banner space.
The aim of the technology is to give advertising companies the ability to revive the flagging banner ad space. Customers can tour around 3D spaces in the banner and obtain other product and service information. It also gives banners the ability to hold time-sensitive virtual events in the banner spot, along with other features. The new technology builds on 3Di's OpenSim sofware.
